Clinical and Ultrasonographic evaluation of patients with Trochanteric Bursitis

Background: Trochanteric bursitis is an inflammation of the greater trochanteric bursa which a recurrent source lateral hip pain.
 Objective: To assess diagnostic value 6 clinical tests that can be used to diagnose and utilize ultrasound as imaging modality confirm diagnosis.
 Patients Methods: This Cross-sectional study included 85 consecutive patients who had been experienced pain in area for at least weeks with one following features: on lying affected side, while climbing stairs or when sitting. Tenderness deep palpation most accurate sign predicting diagnosis, sensitivity 100% specificity 81.8%. There no significant differences between its results ultra-sonographic findings (p=0.500).  Conclusion: trochanter, combined modality, likely have best evaluation complaining around trochanter region.
